Where to buy Kutsuwa Eraser and Clay Kits?

Hi

A post that was bound to happen!

Many people often ask where can they buy Kutsuwa Eraser Kits. So here's a handy dandy guide for you!

I live in Singapore and I buy all my Kutsuwa Eraser products from Love Melancholy. I have previously featured  her shop in my Where to buy Popin' Cookin? post.

She sells each kit online for $12.90.

Kutsuwa Eraser kits have undergone a revamp! The whole new look isn't all. The eraser clay inside are scented eraser clay, allowing you to create your own sweet smelling erasers.

Singapore have another shop selling them. Originally the owners of Candy Play, also featured in my Where to buy Popin' Cookin? post, they have branched out to selling Kutsuwa Eraser kits. They focus on retail in shops like Toy Out Post, Hako or Box Boss. Eraserplay retails at the same shops where they sell Poping Cookin, each at $17.90.

Check them out.

Commissioned!

Hi!

I recently completed a commission from my friend. It was my very first commission and I very much enjoyed the process.

Firstly, my customer and I had to see how small the berries would go.

This allowed us to gauge how big/small the diameter of the cake should be

Next, I used Hearty Red with red paint and some Grace clay to make the red velvet cake layers.
The cream was White Diaso clay with water.

I should have waited for the cake layers to dry before layering the cream as planned, but I got too excited and went ahead.

This made the entire cake dry a lot slower as the volume was very larger. I wanted to make sure that the core of the cake is completely dry before sealing it.

Waited for the cake to dry while making the berries that would go on top of the cake.

When the cake's surface was left to dry for a day, it was sturdy enough for me to cut out a slice. After which,  left the cake and slice to dry again.

The whipped cream was piped with Epoch Whipple Cream. It's easy to pipe and dries nice and hard.

This is the final product~

And my very satisfied customer. ヽ(*・ω・)ノ

The entire commission took maybe 3 weeks. Mostly due to drying time.

Contact me via my Facebook Page @ Rainbow Sashimi if you are interested in getting a commissioned piece from me. Describe your idea with desired measurements and I will quote you a reasonable price based on cost of material and workmanship fee.

Thank you~

Update!

Hiya!

I've been extremely quiet on my YouTube Channel and my blog.

No, I have not disappeared off the face of blogasphere. It's just that my Windows Movie Maker has been glitching. It's impossible to edit videos when all I heard are sounds. The preview doesn't show my the video itself. I hardly see how I can edit the videos.

I actually have been dilligently filming. I have finished one Debika kit and is in the midst of finishing another. I have Kutsuwa Stamp kit clips, Whipple clips. I have even started fiddling with the resin I have purchased last year.

I make a few would-be tutorials, on macaroons and fruits pieces as well as making cake rolls.

I hope my WMM will behave itself.

But in the mean time, I decided I shall start posting photos of the things I have done since my last updates. Usually, I would update with a video of the process. I guess from now on, the blog posts will appear first, as seeing how video editing is not possible in the near future.

So for my first update~~

My lastest creation, miniature bread!

I made a small basket of bread, a Bulbasaur, a duck, a small icecream scoop with leftover clay, some cream puffs and a macaron.

The basket contains a french loaf, a crossiant, a chocolate cornet, a melon pan, a hotdog bun and a cream puff (which isn't actually bread, but I didn't know what other bread I could make).

The duck and Bulbasaur is incomplete.

This was my first attempt in making bread. I must say it turned out ok. Pretty pleased with the results, even though I have much much more to improve on.

The basket was from a Singapore-based shop. I will give a review on the shop soon.

See ya.

Kutsuwa Fuwa Fuwa Whipped Cream Clay

Hi~

A review for you today! Here's Kutsuwa's Fuwa Fuwa Whipped Cream Clay~

This was the first time I played with faux whipped cream, and it proved to be a very interesting experience for me. You can buy it from Sophie and Toffee. I didn't buy it from them, but the store I bought it from doesn't sell them anymore. You can use this coupon code ( JCSV6NC) for a 10% discount!

I have uploaded a video of me playing with it months back. Have you seen it? (Subscribe to my channel for updates)

It was my first time and I felt that it was really hard to pipe it out! (Turns out it was bloated with air in the bag. I pricked the bag at the top corner, and it got better. BUT, it was still hard. At parts of the video, you can see my hand trembling, in fact. (^_^;)

Delicious looking treats!

I piped the cream over my hand made blanks. The purple macaron from Grace clay. The Hello Kitty inspired macaron was made with Hearty Soft. The cream puff is made of Hearty Soft, modified after using the Padico soft mold. The cupcakes were Mermaid Puffy and the waffles were made with some unbranded oven bake clay.

Embellishments are rhinestones from Sophie and Toffee and Daiso and nail art fruit canes.

I think it turned out pretty cute~ :3

So I also tried to mix colour into the clay, basically piping out some clay and adding chalk pastel to it. It didn't really stick to my hand, and mixed pretty well! It piped out easily from my Daiso piping tip.

Chalk pastel, being powder, will not make it too wet. I'm sure you can use paint, but you might want to use a tool to mix it as paint will make it really wet and messy!

After the clay dries more, it actually worked like normal clay, usable with cookie cutters (big cookie) and molds.

A funny thing about the whipped cream clay was that it didn't stuck as well as I thought and they popped off the blanks! ( ̄□ ̄;)But it is easily remedied with white glue (or any type of glue).

Conclusion~!

(+) CHEAP and affordable
(+) Easy to use, good for beginners too
(+) Can mix with pigments for colours
(-) Dries soft

Hope this review was useful! Remember, use JCSV6NC for 10% off!
Thank you~

Kutsuwa Erasers!

Hi!

A quick review on Kutsuwa Eraser Kits~
I'm sure many of you have seen it before, so here's a review for you.

As I didn't have a microwave oven, I transported my already sculpted erasers to a nuke them. These are from the Doughnut and Ice Cream kit.

There is a table at the corner of the instruction sheet. Even if you do not understand Japanese, you can simply compare the Japanese labeling of the image of the macaron for example, and then compare to the words in the table. As for the Watts and duration of nuking, just look at the Arabic numerical. Very straight forward, just need a tad of brain power, but very do-able. So no excuses! :D

I tried dropping the clay into the hot water removed from the microwave, but it didn't seem to be hot enough to 'cook' the clay. But perhaps if I actually boiled it, it may work out!

(´A`。)

Some turned out badly because there were cracks IN the clay. So when you are sculpting them, remember to squeeze the clay into a tight ball, making sure that there is no air in the clay.

Those with multiple parts like the tart on the right may fall apart. Now it's like an Iwako puzzle eraser!

The erasers DO work pretty well and I love the vibrant colours. The eraser dusts sticks together (and are colourful as well xD )

Yummy!

I bought the kits from Love Melancholy as usual.

Conclusion
(+) Colourful DIY erasers that actually work
(+) Molds are reusuable with clay
(+) Easy and clear instructions, even if in Japanese(-) Some bits may fall apart
(-) May be slightly costly for a small eraser

Hope this helps you decide your purchase!
It's definitely worth a buy for me as I love the molds.

Julie Bits Giveaway~!

Once again, Julie Bits is having a giveaway.

This February's gifts are amazing!

Credits to Julie Bits
So much molds. I've received the prizes from her giveaway and the molds are good, flexible, detailed molds.
This time, she included rhinestone and glitter flak wheels and some canes too. Either way, you have nothing to lose.

What's especially grabbing my attention is the big flower mold.

Follow the instructions in her giveaway post! It's as simple as that.

All the best!

I think I'm not cut out for this

I used to think Blogging and Vlogging is easy enough.

Wrong.

You may have the topics ready, you may be able to edit videos, film them nicely, take photos and post them. But however nice they may be, however great your skills are... You can never succeed if you lack discipline.

That's why my Youtube Channel and blog has been pretty lonely.

I'm sorry for promising so much and yet lack so much self-discipline to edit my videos. OTL

On a side note, I've starting trying my hands on miniature clay strawberries and blue berries. So far they are looking good.

I also purchased resin in December, and some molds. Hopefully I can get my lazy but to make some stuff.

I want to embed flowers in my resin pendants though. Stickers are rather kiddish. What flowers are good for resin?
